GET TO KNOW ME

Sarah Saunders, LCSW, LMSW (she/her)

As a psychotherapist, I have over 15 years of experience in providing individual, relational, and group therapy. A Master of Social Work graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, I specialized in clinical practice, with a concentration on the interconnections between physical and mental health. These links often hold the key to self-understanding, as we look deeply into emotional wellbeing and connect this with physical health, somatic awareness, societal dynamics, and how it feels to be in the world at this complicated time in history.

I have had experience in various clinical settings in multiple states. My background includes working in outpatient psychotherapy, inpatient mental health, medical and primary care practices, public health outreach, a crisis hotline, and community mental health and substance abuse treatment centers. These diverse experiences have opened my eyes to an array of creative and thoughtful interventions to support people in many different stages of change and healing work. I also seek to incorporate a perspective of social justice and an ethic of community care into my practice.

I am a fully licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist in both Connecticut and Michigan. Due to the ongoing pandemic and to promote equal access, all psychotherapy and consultation services are currently conducted online.
